senior editors*

Senior Editors comprise the UTFLR’s Senior Board and are responsible for selecting which papers to publish. After a paper is accepted, they work closely with authors to revise papers for publication. Each Senior Editor will also mentor a cell group, comprised of an Articles Editor, a Senior Associate Editor, and four Associate Editors. For this position, strong editorial, communication, and leadership skills are required.

articles editors*

Articles Editors lead the cell group. They guide Associate Editors through the carriage process, conduct training sessions, and lead discussions on each submitted paper. They ensure that all papers receive a thorough and fair review, which includes both defending papers that are poorly received and critiquing papers that are well received. After a paper is preliminarily accepted, an Articles Editor leads the cell group through the improvements process before the paper is passed along to the Senior Board. For this position, strong editorial, communication, and leadership skills are required.

senior associate editors

Senior Associate Editors are responsible for the substantive training of Associate Editors. Prior to carriage review, Senior Associate Editors conduct preliminary research to identify key legal issues and/or points of contention within a paper. They work closely with the Articles Editor and contribute to cell group discussion. For this position, strong editorial, communication, and research skills are required.

senior Publications editors

The Senior Publications Editor will work closely with the Executive Publications Editor to oversee the post-editorial process for print articles and blog posts. This includes copy editing final drafts, ensuring citation accuracy, and coordinating the typesetting and printing process. For this position, strong editorial and communication skills are required.

associate editors

Associate Editors are divided into cell groups and assigned submissions based on their interests. Each Associate Editor critically evaluates their assigned papers, investigating the quality of the research, providing substantive comments, and voting on whether the paper should be passed up to the Senior Board for publication.
