editors-in-chief*

The Editors-in-Chief hold the ultimate responsibility for all of the Law Review’s operations, activities and both short-term and long-term planning. They act as the Law Review’s liaison with the Faculty, student body, and outside partners.

EXECUTIVE EDITOR*

The Executive Editor leads the editorial process for the UTFLR. They will work closely with the Editors-in-Chief to oversee all internal processes and serve as the liaison between Editorial members and the Executive. The Executive Editor will help coordinate the carriage process and senior board meetings, prepare issues for publication, and participate in both editorial and executive decisions. For this position, strong organizational, communication, and planning skills are required.

EXECUTIVE FORUM EDITOr

The Executive Forum Editor leads the editorial process for Forum Conveniens. This includes soliciting blog pitches, overseeing a team of Senior Forum Editors, and directing the team through the review, editing, and publication process. The Executive Forum Editor will ensure the consistent output of high-quality blog posts. For this position, strong editorial, communication, and leadership skills are required.

EDITORIAL MANAGER

The Editorial Manager is responsible for promoting submissions within and outside the University of Toronto community. This includes running the call for submissions at the Faculty as well as implementing outreach strategies to encourage submissions from other Canadian law schools, law clerks, and articling students. The Editorial Manager maintains the UTFLR’s anonymization system and handles all correspondence with authors. For this position, strong organizational, communication, and planning skills are required.

DIRECTOR OF STRATEGY

The Director of Strategy fosters connections between current members, alumni, and the wider legal community. They will be responsible for both internal and external affairs. The Director of Strategy will organize internal and external events, liaise with UTFLR’s academic network, and coordinate community building initiatives. For this position, strong management, communication, and planning skills are required.

DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS AND DEVELOPMENT

The Director of Business and Development manages the UTFLR’s Finances. This includes setting the budget, soliciting new sponsors, and maintaining relationships with existing sponsors. The Director of Business and Development will also be responsible for maintaining and expanding the UTFLR’s subscriber base. For this position, strong financial/budgeting, networking, and communication skills are required.

The Director of Communications and Digital Content is responsible for managing the UTFLR’s website, formatting and publishing new blog posts, and managing the UTFLR’s social media pages in ways that support the journal’s operations and engage the broader legal community. For this position, strong communication and planning skills are required. Any past web or digital design experience will be considered an asset.

EXECUTIVE PUBLICATIONS EDITOR

The Executive Publications Editor oversees the post-editorial process for print articles and blog posts. The Publications Editor will conduct final copy-editing of articles and blog posts that are ready for publication. They will also be responsible for coordinating the printing process for the print Journal. The Executive Publications Editor will lead a team of Senior Publications Editors. For this position, strong editorial, communication, and leadership skills are required.
